runnin with slicks and a cheap clutch?
just wondering if the clutch would hold up. I recently put in a new clutch, some cheap generic brand
i know, but i didnt have money at the time and my stock clutch wouldnt even grab anymore.
anyways, would the clutch hold up if I run with "cheater" slicks? My friend just bought 2 sets and said i could use one the next track day. The engine is only a D16Y8 with intake and headers and cam and a milled head.
on a side note, about the first 10 miles I drive the car , I get alot of clutch chatter, is that because i might have gotten a high performance clutch without knowing it or is it just cus its new?
Thanks again.

your stock clutch will hold up fine with the slicks on it. i used to race an 86 crx si with a stock clutch, integra pistons, and a racing cam and no problems with the clutch when the slicks were on it. as for the chattering noise, that usually means the clutch and flywheel are not balanced. i hate to say this, but i would take the clutch and flywheel back out and have them balanced. or at least to check to make sure there is nothing wrong with the clutch.
