Default Car Wax

Not sure if this is the right forum but seems right to me its appearance and cosmetic. My paint on the hood/roof is starting to get very dull and ugly. Ill be getting a paint job but not until another cple of months. So will wax help get the dullness out of my roof/hood?

DIY guy but you dont know how to clean the car?

just buy a cutting compound from your local auto store, wash it then put in a heap of elbow grease with the cutting compound

We did it to a pretty much pink (meant to be red) car and it come up 10x better.. of course it wont be perfect though. For the cost of giving that a try, you cant lose.
