Problem When Lights are ON
Well the car came with HID's and they work great and all but one thing that bothers me is that there is no beeping noise once the car is off and the lights are on....is it a fuse? or a wire anyone let me know.
What car???
I know first hand my 92 hatch si, my buddies 91 and 90 hatch, 91 crx would never beep if the lights were left on. I dont know of any civic that did. It doesnt matter if they are HID's or stock. Just gotta learn to remember to shut ur lights off. Ive forgot several times. Sucks and you feel like a total ******** when you do.

Yeah thats my problem...it drained my battery the other day and then I recharged but I dont want it happening again to me. Its a 1997 Civic EX Coupe
my 92 didn't come with that, so i made my own. just go to radio shack and get a 12V piezo(dont know if i spelled it right) buzzer, connect the wires in the fuse box. connect one to your parking/cluster light fuse and the other to your windshield wiper fuse. cant remember which one positive and negative go to but it does matter, try it one way and if it doesn't work switch them
You can make your own with a relay and a buzzer or whatever you want.
Here's how it works.
Hook the buzzer ground and the relay ground 85 to say ground.
Then hook the buzzer positive up to the relay either the 87 or the 87a side.
Now the 30 terminal needs to be connected to your lights.
Finally the relay switching power source 86 gets hooked up with your ignition preferably accessory.
Now what happens is, if the lights are on it goes to the relay and completes the circuit causing the buzzer to sound.
The thing that stops it is the relay opening when the key is in the ignition opening the circuit and not giving power to the relay. I didn't remember off the top of my head if it was port 87 or 87a tho, I believe its 87.
If you would like a diagram to clarify anything let me know Ill more then happy to draw one up for you.

its a fuse the same thing happen to my civic just look at the fuse box under the the dash and on the back of the case it shows you the fuses just replace it.. i think its a 5 fuse
5th gen Civics don't beep when the lights are left on. Only when the keys are left in the ignition. If you search hard enough you'll find a DIY write-up on how to install a beeper for the lights. You get the parts from Radio Shack and it doesn't cost much at all. I'm not searching for you...sorry.
edit: But now I see you're driving a 97...I'm not sure on those. Check fuses?

my EK had a buzzer, my EG doesnt so I put one in. Yours should have one too, but it costs like 2 dollars to make your own and probably easier than troubleshooting (unless its something obvious like a blown fuse)
My 97 beeps like no tomorrow when I forget to turn my lights off. When I first got the car it half scared the **** out of me.
Sounds like it wasn't wired properly after setup, do a DIY setup or look through some wiring diagrams.
