Default tune up help>>

hi,
i was wondering what can i do to save gas on my car. i have a 98 honda accord 4 cylinder and it eats alot of gas i don't know why. what can i do? and i recently had an oil change done to my car and after the oil change the car now has its maintance light blinking when i start the engine what is does that mean? please help. thank you.

did you look for a leak in the fuel system? taht might be the cause of the gas eating. did you put enough oil inthe engine when you changed the oil?

The above...with double emphasis on the oxygen sensors. You do not need a CEL for them to be going bad.

Spark plugs/cap/rotor/wires, check for clogged EGR ports, check tire pressure (that can hurt you by as much as 5 mpg) and signs of major misalignment, air filter (likely suspect). That's all that comes to mind at the moment. Don't drive like a lead footed jackass for starters (like I'm one to talk!), drive like its a minivan and accelerate slow and evenly.

yes when your car drops out of overdrive is what wastes alot of gas, changing the spark plugs is the cheapest thing to do so you could start with that.
