I don't know much about tires, but senior year of high school I had a 1986 944 turbo porsche, and I got some of those put on and they were bad ***, plus Pirelli does make a good tire

I've had the P7000 Supersports when I had my 17's. I liked them a lot, but they wore very fast for me. The rain traction was excellent only in the first couple of months....then it got progressively worse. Lots of hydroplaning.

I now switched to the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's and I really like them. I don't do any hardcore drag or x-cross racing, so I can't tell you about that, but normal "spirited" driving is great. I rarely hear the tires squeal. The Pirelli's do all the time.

I have those exact tires right now and like them a lot. The nice thing is they're pretty light for their size and not too expensive. I've actually been driving on them all year and they perform decently in the cold even. I still have plenty of tread after a year and a half (10k or so)

I just put some on (not the SuperSport, the P7000 Summer). Massive improvement over stock Michelins, esp. in the rain. Not as noisy as I heard they were supposed to be, nothing you'd really notice. Nothing could be as bad as Yokohama AVS S4s for noise.

I have the P7000 and they seem like a good tire. I've had them for about 5000 miles with little treadwear showing. haven't had a chance to push them yet but they ride well for daily driving.
