Shouldnt rub the well, i dont know how low you are going, but i'm really low, and i have 205/40/16's. I have about a 3" drop on mine, i dont even rub when hitting bumps and i have about an inch or so of space between the tire and fender. So if your not going past a 2" drop you should be fine. The offset is important, if your buying from a reputable dealer he should know wether a rims offset is going to work for you or not.
When I first got my car it was slammed (4" of ground clearance at the most) with that tire size. I hated it(lots of rubbing). then changed out the suspension to 1.75" lower than stock and loved it(no rubbing) I had my 17s until I hit a deep pothole going about 45mph
. As long as you don't slam it you should be fine.
