Swapping my EG suspension and brakes with a integra
hi I am upgrading my suspension and brakes the integra brakes and suspension, both suspensions are not pretty but I was wondering what bolts, nuts, and washers that I should replace and if somebody has compiled a list so I know eaxctly what I should get, my other question is I have a Set of KYB coilovers with OBX racing springs the rear need to be revalved anybody know how much that would cost? and if I should just get the whole set revalved?
It might be a good idea to replace your rear LCA bolts (3 on each side) with the new Honda parts(expensive
). Those bolts tend to rust solid to the inside of the bushing & it makes them impossible to remove. Get a couple little packettes of anti seize from auto-zone (about $.99 each) and put that on the non threaded portion of the bolts. That is the part that gets stuck.
It's also a good idea to do a brake job on the replacment suspenison before you put everything on. Get some inexpensive brembo blank rotors & axiss ultimate pads. Also replace all shims, springs & retainers on the calipers. Also make sure to dissassemble & lube the caliper guide pins when doing a brake job (get all air out upon re-assembly). The lube inside tends to dissapear over time. Once that happens, the calipers will seize up & be impossible to service.
Finally make sure to replace your proportioning valve with a non ABS integra one for proper brake bias with the new rear discs...
If your adding larger integra front brakes, your going to need a new master cylinder. A 91 Civic EX 4door master cylinder is the proper size (15/16") and it will bolt directly to your stock civic booster. If you try to buy one from an autoparts store, make sure it's really 15/16" and also make sure the two fluid output lines are in the proper place. Autoparts stores are notorius for mixing these things up (because they all look the same). I recomend buying a new one directly from HondaAutomotiveParts.com or SLHondaParts.com...
