High Idle in my work hatch. Need help ASAP
Not throwing any codes or anything. Its a 88 hatch with stock d15b non-vtec auto.
Car starts up fine and idles real high and when i start it in the morning it idle's fine but wont idle down until you slam in into drive(lol). Only paid $700 bucks for the car but since winter is here id like to try to figure out whats up with it. If you go out after its been running for like 10 minutes and try to hit the gas to idle it down it idles higher. Where should i start off checking first...

First check the throttle cable see if it is too tight. If that doesnt help You can adjust the Idle screw, but I wouldnt touch that because I let my friend play around with mine and now my car is all messed up.
You TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor) Might be bad or unplugged, but in most cases that would throw a code.

thanks for the reply. Im gonna go check the cable now and see whats up with it. The car idles fine after you drive it for a minute and put it in park so i dont really want to mess with the idle screw. Anyone else have any other ideas
