Default heather on my teg --> Bisimoto / SMSP / Mugen / ANR's

Hi,

I have an almost stock ITR (mugen 4-1 header+Mugen ECU's ) and I'm planning on replacing the Mugen by a Bisimoto header but is it like a plug and play header?

What mods are to do to fit it?

Is there welding mods to do to? I saw that the air conditionning has to be taken off and what about the radiator?

Also do you think it's worth putting such a header since the planned mods are an AEM CAI a Mugen twinloop and replacing Mugen ECU by Hondata S300?

Since more mods are maybe to come like toda cams I'm thinking I'm better off putting the parts that will offer more mods possibilities afterwards what do you think?

thanks for your help

by the way sorry if my english sucks but I'm in switzerland altought I'm american by my mother I'm not a pro..

J

Heather (Locklear)

HeaDER (Toda)

Jokes aside.... Since you want to replace your Mugen ECU with an S300, I'll assume you will be going to:

Pi & Ti Motosport
Via F. Borromini 24
69850 Mendrisio
Tel +41 (0) 646 95 20
http://www.tuningsuisse.ch

You should try tuning your car with the AEM CAI and Mugen setup + S300 first.

What is a Toda AAC? Couldn't figure that one out

Buy the Toda header pictured and keep your AC.

wow that's sweet an adress in switzerland you're good!

I was shure that I had done mistakes

ok HeaDER

I would love tuning my car with the AEM CAI and Mugen setup + S300 first but the thing is if I ad some stuff afterwards I'll have to redo the tuning over again right?

shout AAC stands for "arbre à cames" which means cams or camshaft in english I think

thanks for correcting me

that's not a bad idea if I look at the comments on performance of the bisimoto and the sound it produces I wont have any problems taking the a/c off.. + I don't use a/c so..

removing the AC is not worth the gains, imho.

Many headers nowadays are able to make superior gains without removing any of your accessories.

Look into toda for an off the shelf header, or RMF, SMSP, Hytech, etc. You should be able to retain your AC (should you ever wish to sell the car, this is important), and Power Steering.

You're probably right about not removing the A/C so what header between SMSP/RMF/and toda would you advise... from a performance point of view

I'd be gessing for smsp no? or RMF?

That will depend on several different factors including:

-time frame you will need the header
-price point
-availability
-intended application and usage
-special considerations (such as ground clearance, radiator and fan clearance, etc)
-???

For off the shelf with great ground clearance and in stock with several online retailers currently - toda. It can also be found used in the $700 range.

For a custom header built to your needs, take your pick of SMSP, RMF, or hytech, etc. You can't go wrong with any of them - and they each have their own original designs which make more power. This doesn't come without a price, however, and wait times may vary as they are often built to order. I think they may also have some off the shelf designs if you are in a hurry and don't need anything so radical as a custom spec unit.

You might want to do a search here and in the allmotor forum.
There is no such thing as a 'best' header - but there is one out there which will suit your wants and needs.

-time frame you will need the header (between 4months to 5 months waiting end of winter to take it out again)

-price point (no price point it's open as long as it's a good quality part)

-intended application and usage (road use and circuit)

-special considerations (ok to remove fan but I don't want to move radiator)

On SMSP site... http://sms-products.com/DynoTesting.html

so SMSP beating RMF narrow

I heard Hytech is copied from smsp?

thanks for helping me

My money....(if I actually had any ) would be on the SMSP.....

But then everybody would jump and hump on about how they'd get a hytech or RMF or <insert other popular header>

I say SMSP only because my setup mimics the user "George Knighton" and those would be the gains that would make me happy for the money I would have to spend.

very "basic" Intake - Header - Exhaust - Hondata - camgears.

....Almost 200whp and a very nice torque curve. Also, to the best of my knowledge, RMF does not produce a header in stainless unless it is a special order which could take even longer (I stand corrected). I just plain like stainless over mild for its corrosion resistance despite the RMF unit being coated mild steel.

That is one test, and should not be taken for the end-all be-all.

However, I'm sure SMS will build you a header to your specs and it will make lots of power. He is an excellent fabricator and anyone here would be proud to have one of his products. He is also of the highest character. I have no qualms about recommending anyone to him for business.

Contact user SMSP on this site and he will be able to give you pricing and availability.

Me too, but then she got a restraining order. I just got a new telescope, so we still see each other from time to time.
