Default B16 question VID INSIDE.....

How much hp will a b16 with stock internals hold?? Since d16 can hold up to 230whp on stock internals I was thinking maybe a B16 will hold around 280-300hp but correct me if i'm wrong. The reason i'm asking is that i'm debating either sticking with my d16z6/greddy@10psi it made 180hp and a best 1/4 mile run of 13.0@102 or should I go with b16/50trim and aim for around 300hp..Let me know what you guys think thanks

Go with a b16 with a 63/57 trim. Great spool, good power.

Build your bolt ons around the turbo to help gain efficiency. How much power it'll hold on stock internals depends on how well it's tuned for what you do to it. Don't get greedy on boost though. Too many people have put rods through blocks doing it.

hmm that's weird it all depends on the tune. I've been doing pretty good with my greddy kit on my d16 but i will definitaly recommend not using the greddy blue box, I was having lots of trouble tuning with it, I took it out and put a blox fmu and uberdata and I push my little d16 with stock internals to 230whp on 14psi

That's a really good time with that much boost and that much power.

what trim are you using now? and how much power are you putting down? im just curious because i have a b16 with a 60 trim sitting in the garage. im waiting for other parts before i can drop it in.

Isnt it possible to use the car as a run around and use lower boost and when you race increase the boost (obviously dont push it too much) But isnt it possible to do it lie that? and what is a B16 engine easily capable of handleing on stock internals?

OP: Its going to be hard to build a reliable car with that much horsepower on stock internals. I would suggest a moderate/heavy build if you are planning on that kind of horsepower increase. Technically you could run high boost and make decent numbers on a stock B16, but it wont last.

hp wise? Im confused by your question.
