Default How do I disconnect my battery?

Ok, girl here. I have a 2004 Honda Accord V6 Coupe. Some *** in a truck hit me and drove off so I needed some body work. I realized on the way home after picking it up that the radio/cd and my really-badly-missed XM doesn't work.

Before anyone yells, I HAVE THE CODE. But the display blinks "error" instead of "code" and doesn't let me put anything in. I've done some research on this site and have determined that I need to disconnect, then reconnect my battery. How on earth do I do that?? Can someone give me a "Battery for Dummies" lesson?

Thank you all!

you could just remove the fuse under the hood. it should be in a fuse box next to or near the battery.

To disconnect battery, get a 10 mm wrench, or adjustable wrench and loosen negative(" - ") cable nut, and then pull off the cable. Turn Left to loosen.

Wow - that was fast! Thank you!

PS - How do I know what fuse, aren't there a bunch? I'll check my manual, but I don'think it says which fuse is for what

Now I know where to come for questions! I was looking at a bunch of diff cars before deciding on my Accord, but I love my Honda and it's only been a year! I had a Grand Prix GTP before this and while I loved it, I feel better in my Accord.

I just went out (brrrr) and tried the 7.5 one and it didn't work - I'll look for the back-up one next...

Thanks!

Like to try one on the inside. This one is just for the audio unit itself. In the fuse box next to the hood release. All the way on the top right corner. 7.5A Should say Audio on the cover. Happy fuse hunting. The one under the hood was for the light (display) on the radio.
