RSX Type-S 05, what mods should I do
hey guys, what's the "best bang for the buck" mod should I start with. It's got 210hp. Thinking about AEM V2 CAI. Anything better to start with?
Best bang for the buck mod is probably a DC Race header that eliminates the cat. Do you want a hot air or cold air intake?
Check out clubrsx.com. It's all about RSX's and you can read a lot there.

i.e. intake, exhaust, headers, you know the whole deal.

most people hate the huge wheel gap. a lot of 05 owners are dropped on tein ss. look on crsx like others have mentioned.

did you know that your soo called 05 having 210 is fake? its only got 201, Acura was pumping in 9 more hp than it has and thats why the hp rating went back to 201 for the 06. Acura had to comply with the new SAE hp standards.
would you like a cookie for that post? totally unecessary.
as for the topic at hand, i'd recommend i/h/e. i have an AEM short ram and the DC ceramic race header and they've been great. plus, they're not going to cost you an arm and a leg. another thing you will probably want to do is lower the car. i recommend teins if you want to spend the money, and if not, go with some clubrsx springs.

haha... let me try to explain
First, Acura did not "pump 9 more hp into the 05." Simply put, it had 210hp when measured by the current (at that time) SAE standards.
Second, the reason the rating went to 201hp for 06 was like you said the use of the new SAE (rev 8/04) standards. Honda/Acura did not HAVE to use the new standards but chose to starting with 06 models. Some other car manufacturers can (and are) still using the old standards.
Third, both the 05 and 06 have the same exact engine. This means they both produce the same amount of power. The only thing that changed was how the power was measured. The engine used in both years is the K20z1.
Hoepfully I cleared that up for you so you can stop calling the 05 RSX-S 'fake' with its 210hp.

That's called "fixing the loose screw in the driver's seat".
Go to an autocross school or do an HPDE with an instructor, then you'll begin to figure out what you'd like to mod and why -- if you'd want to modify anything at all.

Injen CAI
DC Race header
Fujitsubo Powergetter exhaust (If you plan to do boltons only, if not then get custom mandrel bent exhaust, 2.5 inch for NA and 3 inch for boost)
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Energy Suspension Motor Mounts
You should be hitting the 200 whp mark (if not very close to or over) and running low 14s (high 13s with better tires) with those five mods alone.
and the AEM V2 is NOT a CAI for the RSX-S, it's a short ram.
Have fun modding!
