Default ZC Rebuild?

Has anyone rebuilt a ZC? I am looking at rebuilding mine some time in the future. I am curious as to whether or not anyone has done it. I am wondering what pistons, rods etc. you used. I am looking for aftermarket parts I don not plan to build it back to stock specs. I know the cams are not widely available but was curious about valve train options. Thanks for any light you can shed on this potential project.

I am not looking for any opinion about a damn B16A. That is not what I want to do. I want to keep my ZC. So please do not reply if your answer is for me to go with a B16.

i rebuilt my zc, but used stock parts. i used 88-89 teg pistons and used the zc rods since they were fine.

also, buy stock honda piston rings (if you don't overbore) since they are one of the best kind out there...

if you have any more specific questions, let me know.

Thanks AbaZ. That is more along the lines of what I am looking for. I had found the endyn pistons and rings and am looking at the 11 to 1's. I was considering eagle rods but may take a look at the crowers. My other question would be what did you do to the top end. Did you do anything other than the machine work and cam? Did you go with different valves, springs, etc.

Thanks again for some good info.

Eagle rods are alot cheaper then the Crower I beam rods, and they are even beefier. either rod you use, you will have to get it NOTCHED, so they will clear, we just did this yesterday to mine.

Endyn Roller Waves .20 over (9.5cr)
Crower I-beams
O-ringed Block
Post Pinned Support Endyn
Fully Balanced
Fully Ported Head for NA (will be redone later this year)
Crower Regrinded Cams 10-15 degrees more duration (they rip!)
ARP Head Studs
5.5lb flywheel with 6puk disc.

and alot of other crap. I am going to completely redo the head this summer, larger valves, differnt valve springs and enlarge the ports. Also be designing a custom intake manifold for forced induction.

People say stuff for the ZC is hard to find.. Its only the Valve train stuff that you dont see in the aftermarket..

Oh. and both turbo kits are sold. I will be selling my 300zx turbokit on ebay possibly at the end of april. My ZC and custom turbo setup will be going in.
