Default What ECU best fits my needs?

What ecu should I pick up. I'm picking up a JDM GSR without an ecu, so I need to figure out which ecu I should get. I don't mind going OBD1 but I already have a OBD0 B16 ecu, so my poll will hopefully decide which ecu will be best for me.

Mods will be
3 Inch Intake
Type-R cams
Skunk 2 IM
Vibrant Headers

Thanks in advance

If you stay obd0 get a chipped ps9 or pw0 or pr3 or some of that crap, then you won't need 1 wire vtec.

The ODBI GSR ECU is best, since it is the right ECU for the motor. The USDM P72 would work okay as well. But unless you can get a P30 cheap, why bother? And as you know, I don't like the pre-1992 stuff.

The GSR ECU is the correct ECU, but IMO he should only get it if he has the stock GSR IM or if he wants to be able to use his knock sensor. He has a Skunk2 IM so IAB control isn't needed. I would say get a chipped OBD1 P28 from kenji. He can give you a chip with fuel and timing maps optimized for your mods.

sorry, wasnt trying to be a jerk, just figured you might run into the same kinda trouble i did before.

i figured you thought that any b16x computer can be used with any b18x. but b18's have not just b18a/b, but also b18c, which is obd1-obd2

b18a/b can be pre obd, obd1-2 same with b16a
