00 Civic, Rear Speaker Problem
Honda Civic Sedan, LX 2000 model.
The rear speaker on the driver side has, instead of outputting sound, been producing weird subwoofer sounding noises, except a lot more annoying. Is it a problem with the head unit, or is there probably a wiring problem near the speaker? By the way, it's just a radio unit, no CD player.
Thanks!

subwoofer sounds? It's putting out bass? or is it squealing? Are they the stock speakers? You could just get new speakers and see if that's the problem, if not it COULD mean the wire got grounded somewhere between the deck and speaker.
take the wires for the other rear speaker and hook them up, same sound then it's the speaker. if not prolly the wiring or the head unit
platinum.

SOunds like its a fucked up wire or loose connection if it is putting out like crunchy static or the speaker is blown. jiggle the wire to the speaker and see if anything happens or do what the other guys said and switch the wires to the speaker to see if that is the problem.
