Default remote start, how do I bypass the clutch?

I did a search on honda-tech and found out that I need a pink and a blue wire to bypass the clutch. I found those wires and now I need to know what to do with them. Do I connect them togethor? What do I do with the black wires?

Here is a pic

Just strip both wires back, and join them together.

If you want, you can use a switch. That way you have a way to disarm the remote start if you want

I'd recommend just getting a remote start kit that works with a manual trans. Jumping that switch is fine and all...but accidentally leave it in gear just once and then try to remote-start it the next morning, you're gonna be in a world of hurt.

I know that kits for manual trannies are out there...a friend of mine has one in his Jeep Wrangler, and it's foolproof. A little more complicated than just shutting the car off when you park it, but it absolutely WILL NOT let you remote-start the car with the shifter in gear.

I would recommend getting a kit for your specific car too, I put a auto tranny kit on a manual tranny SiR and I would leave it in gear about once a week, it would jump across the parking lot but luckly never started up.

OMG NO NO NO!!!

What your sapossed to do is use the wire after the clutch relay and splice into that. That is the right was to do it everything else is just half assed and dangerous.

At the time I didn't think it was funny, but now I think its pretty F*cking halarious. Plus I junked the car, so I got it back for trying to run away! lol

if you want to get really technical you could build a switch network that requires the parking brake to be set and the shifter to be in neutral before the remote start activates (which would also trigger a relay to jump the clutch safety switch) allowing the car to start only IF ALL 3 criteria were met. I did this in my Eclipse years ago and it worked very well. if you need more details, just email me.

One for a manual trans has that built in.

On mine you have to set the parking brake shift to netural, then hit the brake twice remove the ignition key all while the motor is running then shut the door and the motor will stop and it will remote start, now if you enter the car or anything it wont start untill you do the whole song and dance again.

How do you set it up to know when it is in nuetral and has the parking brake on? I have a Viper 791-XV alarm btw, it is already all setup for remote start and it has an on/off switch hooked up.

Well I designed a system but its not entirely foolproof.

there are a couple ways to do this, you could build something under the shifter boot using reed switches, and put a magnet shaft of the shifter. If the magnet got close ot the reed switches, it would close/open the circuit. I suppose you could also do this with mercury switches but if the car was on a hill those wouldnt work

another idea is you could put a large shaft collar around the shifter, beneath the boot. When the shaft collar got near the edge it would depress a roller switch.

^^ Thats my most recent one I was actually in the process of designing it
