Default My NA LS VTEC build...kinda NA

b18b1 bottom end stock crank/rods
p30 pistons
gsr head
gsr cams
b16 tranny
GE ls vtec conversion kit
oem ls HG
oem gsr timing belt
oem flywheel
some kind of upgraded clutch

very mild, but its for my beater. 11.8 to 1 compression...sound decent?

plans are to spray 100 to 150 shot to fulfil my boost withdrawl needs...

sweet!
That thing should eat turbos on the street. Instant torque on demand while hes waiting for boost to kick in!
What are you using to tune it?

Id be a little worried about those rods though. On a (same HP/TQ)turbo motor maybe. The torque of the nitrous would be abrupt and shocking to the rod, where as the turbo would be linear...LS rods are strong and all but dont you think thats pushin it?
what hp are you expecting to get,Id say 170 all motor and close to 300 on the bottle...

I would be worried to spray 100-150 shot on cast pistons especially with that compression. But give it a shot ( no pun lol) ive heard of worse, but if its tuned right with the proper fuel it may work. O and intake/headers ? /exhaust. and try to do a mild build on the head.

i dont want to put too much money into it...so unless i port the head myself im not doin much headwork. and no point in doing valves/springs and retainers because im limited by the rods (dont wanna spin bearings) and i dont want to build the bottom end....reason im doing this is because i had spare p30 pistons, just got an ls swap dirt cheap from my friend, and figured id throw on a b16 tranny.

would you get more power if you use a b16 head?

no....flow bench tests show that the flow is very very similar...and i bought the gsr head because the gsr camsare more aggressive than b16 cams....

Stock for stock, I'm a abigger fan of the GSR head for LSVs. Better chambers, cams, and "ports" for a 1.8. I just don't like the manifold situation. Good luck with the project!

Prolly wouldnt hurt to splash some race gas in there when your spraying, and keep the timing conservative.
