hks intake suppose to be discontinued and the last time i saw on s2ki it was sellin for like $700

Yes it has been discontinued. I saw one on s2ki sell for over 1k. I believe it was the last new one.

what is the point of the dipped section of the piping?

instead of coming straight out and across, because it is not a cold air intake.......

HKS is not made anymore...they sell for over 600$ used now...

ARC is nice, and heatsoak is an issue, but its not a proven fact. Get ARC with a vented hood and your ok
