now don't flame me for this but my cx cluster came with a shift light located near the top. OEM shift light that came on around 2k i guess and i know it varried by RPM and throttle position. I just got a VX cluster which you all know also has a shift light but instead its on the bottom right corner. I know both of them work the same except with the VX cluster in my CX it doesn't come on? Anyone got any ideas?

i was thinking about swapping just the tach and temp gauges into my old cx cluster except i know the wiring in the back is different on the little green sheet that has solder and attaches with the bulb. ideas? thnx!

 

When you do the swap the shift light shows up on a diff icon on the cluster. I want to say the cruise control light? Although Im not sure, thats just what is coming to mind right now. Im sure this will get an answered soon enough, as common as it is.

 

i know lots of ppl go from dx/cx cluster to Si/ex but im wondering about the ones that went to VX, wondered if the shift light worked for them?

 

CXx didnt come with a tach,and i never heard of any Civic cluster coming with a shift light?

 

i didnt say the cx came with a tach. i said the vx one did. AND YES CX AND VX CLUSTERS HAVE OEM SHIFT LIGHTS. go look for yourself. its even in ur owners manual.

yeah 94,95 cx's came with a tiny shift light .

if you got a tach in the vx cluster, why would you need the shift light to even come on?

my vx had a shift light and a tach, and it worked, and it is sweet as hell!

Is there any way to get it to come on with a chipped p-series ECU?

can you set it?

I learned something new today.

 

yeah i guess i dont really need the shift light. it just looks cool tho. wish it worked from the swapped cluster lol.

 

I got a shift light in my VX, its so ghey comes on at like 2k or so, if I do shift when it tell me to, I end up in like 5th at 35+mph...I dont do that :/

Is there anyway to set it to come on at redline? I dont even use it, but it would be cool If I could get it to pop on when its coming to redline...
