At the risk of having this locked and losing points, I can't help it, I'm just too excited.
Finally after 2 years of wanting and waiting for the right time I'm going to one in Homestead on Dec 17th! I hope it'll be everything I expect. Only things I have left to do to the car is put in the SS brake lines, new pads, new rotors, new fluid, and swap in my rear suspension from my EK (koni yellow's w/ ITR springs).
As far as the car that I'm taking, you can see it here...

Ford (can't remember the exact name) Brake Fluid, supposed to be good stuff
AutoZone Duralast rotors
Nothing crazy, simple, cheap, effective.

I should be there as well man!!!
I wanted to run the CRX, but its just not ready. I had my finger over the purchase button yesterday for HPDE1 but had to make the wise decision.
Either way I should be down there to help my Uncle with his car. Ill make sure to find you and say hi.

Wow.... have fun with all that
Make sure your battery is properly held down, and if for whatever reason you have a 4 point harness... it wont be accepted.

No, standard seat belt. And I just replaced the battery yesterday, so it's definitely held down.
Don't worry about the suspension, it'll be fixed this weekend. 4 Koni's w/ 4 ITR springs, and 4 Falken Ziex 225-55-15s.

Keep an eye on them - with the power the swap makes, you'll be able to overheat pretty easily. Take spare pads with you as well.

Really? I was hoping they'd be good for both hpde and street use, I don't expect to be killing them my first time out though. Slow and steady to learn!

Yea, I had some 205 Azenis on there, but the huge price jump to the new ones made me decide to change tires. I went with 225 instead of 205 b/c it was a $15/tire difference or so and anyone can always use the extra grip. I remember I posted a thread in here asking if anyone was using a 225 of a 6.0" wide rim.

Crap, I didn't think I missed the boat so bad on that choice. What would you guys recommend for my next HPDE?

Calling MaddMatt(Matt Nicholson) at Carbotech.

The list of good pads goes on and on, but for a car that's going to need to brake a lot like yours will, I'd start with Carbotech Panther + or Hawk HP+ at the very least.
Homestead isn't particularly hard on brakes. Since this is your first time out, I wouldn't worry about it that much. Taking a set of spares is a good idea, just in case. Also take spare brake fluid.
As for the future, Cobalt Friction is right here in Fort Lauderdale. They have a good lineup of performance brake pads. Give 'em a call and they'll help you make the right choice.

You'll probably be ok, but take a set of cheap-o stock pads just in case. And seriously consider a set of true track pads for your next HPDE. Changing pads is easy, no reason not to do it.
The Ultimates are a nice multi-use pad and would probably be ok if you had stock power levels. But even as a noob, you'll be well into triple-digit speeds with the engine you have.

Cool thanks for the advice!
EDIT: and to be honest, changing the pads is a pain for me as I've been recently displaced from my house and I'm sharing a 1 bedroom condo with a friend.

I was referring to the aspect ratio of 55 on a 225 width tire.
Thats an odd size.

Oh, well, I guess, it does look pretty meaty, but it's the only aspect ratio they had for 225 width.

I do it at the track upon arrival (and before departing for home).
