Ok here's the deal, hard to understand, bare with me. I got this knocking noise coming from driver side. Sounds like it's suspension related or motor related. It knocks when i accelerate and when i brake like as if something if moving back and forth, like sliding or something. Things i already checked

-Driver side motor mount
-Driver side torsion bracket
-Driver side torsion bracket bushing
-Driver side A arm bolts
-Driver side Camber kit bolts on top(engine bay) and bottom
-Strut Fork
-Axle nut
-Castle nut

That's all I got so far. I try to wiggle the wheel, there's no play so I guess wheel bearings is still good. What else is there?

Is your shock on that side still good? Are you on coilovers?

One other thing is he said it just started to make the noise out of no where. So i'm guessing something is loose of eithier broke.

 

Well i know a bad shock will cause the suspension to bang around. So will a coilover perch not being set right. If he changed the shock out, the latter is a good possibilty. Get the car in the air and see if the spring perch has any play. There should be an o-ring its sitting on, so it doesn't move. But it could be worn, or missing altogether.

 

Wheel bearing maybe

 

my crx does the same thing and i figured it out, the upper a-arm moves up and down and if yours is lowered and you have a camber kit, your going to be rubbing part of the frame in the upper well. jack up the car put it on a jack stand. jack up the suspension to make it compress you might have to have friend lay on the car a bit to keep it from lifting and look up at the upper a-arm and youll see if you have the same symtom as mine.

 

check to see if ur suspesion is bolted down right. i kno someone who had it loose and when it drove around it made knocking noises.

I'll check it out though, seems like a good possibility. Keep them coming. Also i should say that ball joints all look good, no ripped boots.
