90 EF civic, b16swap, wiring help..
are there any write ups, or how to's for a b16a OBD0. into an EF Civic SI?
these seems like such a common swap, but i honestly have searched here there and everywhere, and can not find a write up with pictures or anything on how to do the wiring. this is really stalling my install i just want to get it finished!.. any help would be appriciated, im not even sure where to start.
the ECU is a PW0 by the way..

Its not much wiring at all..Just have to run the 4 wires for vtec engagement,,2nd o2 sensor, knock sensor, vtec oil pressure, vtec solenoid,..Now you can make your own or buy one thats already done and just needs to be hooked up and pinned into the ecu clips..Hasport,rywire.com,,etc make them..
yeah i have seen this one, but honeslty the wiring section sounds like French to me
..
47. Wiring- this is the easiest / hardest part of the swap. This really takes patients and you have to be careful. First things first if your ecu came with the old connectors being cut off I would practice on removing the pins, I bought a kit from radio shack for 5 bucks it looked like dentist tools, after 30 minutes of practice I had it down. You have three plugs a,b,c first you are going to take the wire you designated for vtec use a but connector and connect it to one of the pins that you made, you are going to add this pin to plug A in slot 8(a8). now for the rest of the wires look at plug a as your guide so you know what direction to look at the plug and how to count the slot etc.. Now find the C plug, and count to the 8th connector(c8), get another butt connector and connect it to another pin that you pulled out earlier to the wire you made for the 2nd o2 sensor and add the pin to the clip. Okay now take plug be and count to the 5th connector (b5) and you are going to give yourself a little slack and cut the wire, put a cap on the wire engine side of the wire, you will no longer use this wire, Use a butt connector and and crimp the wire that you added for the vtec pressure sensor and connect them together. And last but not least. find pin b19, cut it like you did b5 and cap off the engine side of the wire, then use a butt connector and crimp the knock sensor wire that you ran.
i just need some elaborating.. pictures would be AWESOME but i dont think anyone will offer those, as i have asked many times now.. so if someone could give some input i'd love it..
-- what do you do with the wires in the engine bay? do you just splice them into the wires (ex. the green/yellow for the vtec)? or do you actually put that end of the wire into the plastic clip thing to? im confused..

Try this too:

In regards to splicing wire, the preferred method is solder and heatshrink as you'll most likely be adding wire to chopped plugs with pigtails attached.
Wire loom with a scotch super 33 or super 88 covering is nice to look "stock".
Take your time, it's not that difficult, the hard part is keeping it neat and reliable.

To make it easier on yourself just buy the vtec subharness from hasport or rywire..Hook it up to the motor and plug the pins into the ecu using this picture,,
i dont think its really worth the $100 or so though is it? i guess i just need to sit down and have a good close look at the wires...
when i ment splice i did mean that i would solder them and what not. but that is the right idea then correct? i dont need to actually put them into clips or anything. isnt splicing / soldering / heat shrinking.. what everyone else does?

You're going to need to go to a yard and get some ECU plugs with wires intact.
De-pin those plugs and use as needed. I'll warn you that you will need a small screwdriver and some patience when de-pinning..
You may end up adding extra wire to those wires (with pin intact for respective plug) you just removed.
But yes, splicing and soldering is the what you need to do-
I hope I'm helping and not confusing you....

what size wire should i use? also is it possible to get the same color scheme wires as honda uses (green w/ yellow stripe) that sort of thing

If you can find an old harness when you find your ECU plugs, you may be able to salvage some of it for wire.
16 or 18 gauge stranded wire should be fine for everything.
As long as you know what color does what, not a big deal.
I wouldn't waste time trying to find special wire with stripes and what-not, any auto parts store or home depot should carry hookup wire in various colors.
Oh, here's a site so you can get an idea of what's out there: http://www.waytekwire.com/
