I brought a 1996 Acura Integra GSR, with a remanufactured Title( Which I did not know). Did everything I possibly could for 2 weeks to pass state emissions and safety Inspections, but I failed because there is no. OBD 2, Plug-in port to check the ECU. I looked at the (CAT) and it only has one O2 sensor. Could the LS engine be a later model with OBD 1. What can I do to convert to OBD 2 Standards. Who has a Plug-in port they want to sell. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you,
Ripple Sound

wow that sucks man, idk where to even start to tell you what to do. I guess one bit of information you could give us that could be helpful is to find the ECU and tell us the numbers and letters it says on it. Then we can go from there.
Honestly id go back to the person who sold u this car and give them hell....
Why would they put an LS motor in a GS-R?

The state says because it is a 1996 body, it has to have OBD 2, standards. Isnt that backwards?
no....
obd2 body, means it needs an obd2 motor and ECU.
If thats an obd1 ECU, uve got some major work to do to get that thing to OBD2....
Is it really worth it to you?
What did u pay for the car?
Maybe you would be interested in swapping the motor and ECU back to a GS-R and obd2.
you could even buy an obd2 ITR motor and ecu if u wanted.
Question tho...
What guage cluster is in the car? what is the redline?

What does your MPH - RPM - Gas things look like? lol
What is the redline on it,
(the red line is.. the redline
on it)
lol or just take a pic of it and host it up real fast, a Picture is worth a thousand words
I say move somewhere that doesnt have emissions/smog, lol It's worth it.

Thats one of your problem right there you have a gsr ecu running a LS motor
its probaly thorwin CEL's for a knock sensor, vtec
one way to verify if you got obd 2 wiring is check your ecu plugs or ecu if it has 3 rows of pins then its obd 2 but if it has 2 rows of pins then its obd1

It was a budget thing, I test drove it and it drove great. I did alot of minor repairs, but that was the last thing I figured would happen. In PA you have to use Messenger services to transfer titles. I never saw it, but yesterday after I failed inspections, I checked out the car of carfax.com. I should have did that first!
Didn't the previous owner have to smog it first before selling it to you? If so, how was he able to pass?

When I called the county here, they said that because they lived in that county they only had to do a visual inpection. Since I live in a different county they have to run the OBD 2 test.
I am currently just working on registering it in florida. This way at least I can have tent, and other things I could never have in PA.

correct me if im wrong, but doesnt the seller HAVE to let you know if there is a salvaged/rebuilt title? i would take his *** to court.
