Default b18c1

okay i did my research. i want to bore my block to 84mm and run NA. and have about 12:1 CR. question is, whats a good brand sleeve? pistons? also, do i have to bore out my head also? coz i figured u bore out the block, do u have to "bore-match" the head? kinda lost on this part. and also a place for me to get good deals on these parts. thanks.

Why dont you just run some ctr pistons with a thicker head gasket? Cheaper. But if you want to bore out the block i would go with either JE or wiseco pistons.

Instead of "Bore" out the head, i think you are trying to say port it and polish it. Most machining places can do this for you.

Are you going to do the build yourself???? If you arent, then it will cost a pretty penny.

No, he means bore the combustion chamber to meet the bore of the cylinder..

Some piston designs you may have to bore the head out, some you dont...I think it depends on the dome size etc...

The choice of piston depends on how much your willing to spend and what your really looking into as far as compression piston material, weight of the piston(the lighter the more expensive etc), it's all a matter of preference..Usually you go with something your engine builder rec's for your setup...If you're building it yourself then I would just search ALOT..it will help you come to a conclusion..

There are many good sleeving machine shops out there like Golden Eagle,AEBS...the list goes on and on... Heres a thread on some members preferences: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=795869

yup ur right. i mean bore out the combustion chamber to match the block bore. so do i have to do that? coz i know if i over bored my block to fit .25mm oversized pistons i can get away without doing anything to my head. am i right? correct me if im wrong anyone. thanks

i already answered your question.....

Certain piston designs with the same size you may have to bore the head out, others you dont...

:I had a set of 84.5MM JE pistons that i sold, on those the domes would sit well within the 81mm bore on the head, In other words i could have used them with my 81MM combustion chamber..no boring was required...get my drift?
