I made the other thread about my negative catching on fire when i tried to start my car. After that anytime i tried putting the negative and positive on the battery it would start to smoke.

Well I took off the starter wire and hooked up the battery once again. And it didnt do it anymore?

 

Sounds like the positive side to your starter is grounded to the frame which is like wireing your pos side of your battery to your negative, too many electrons passing through!!

 

Was there really any need to create another thread?
