I need Remote Start for manual trans/Keyless entry/Alarm recommendations please.
Somehow I ended up in NE Ohio for yet another winter so I need remote start this year. I need something sleepy-driver-proof. I don't want to come out of work and find out the hard way that I left my car in gear when I went into work at 5:30am; something that can't be started in gear. I need high end and low end recommendations. Also something that's not a "dealer installed only" system. I won't let anyone else touch my vehicles.
For my girlfriend's car and my truck, I just need something basic.
I need: -Remote Start for Manual Trans (something idiot proof)
-an Alarm (maybe something basic; more likely something that will transmit to a pocket remote)
-probably keyless entry (but not definitely)
For my Integra I'll need something a little more advanced.
If this car gets stolen, I won't want a check; I'll want my car back.
I need: -Remote Start for Manual Trans (something idiot proof)
-an Alarm; definitely one with transmitting capabilities
-Some kind of vehicle tracking system (GPS, LoJack, or any other)
-Keyless entry
-Maybe a built in Turbo Timer, but not required.
-Maybe leads for accessories like defrost, windows up/down, other accessories, but not required.
Also if you have one you hate or wouldn't recommend let me know that too.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations and experiences.

Every thing you need except "tracking" built in http://www.compustar.com, you could add "Lowjack" or something like it and have the Compustar trigger it if alarm goes off.

Thank you. I did take a look at the "Best Alarm" thread on the same page and Compustar does seem to be the preferred brand esp. among Manual trans users.
The only bad things I've read about it are "the remote eats 2 batteries a month" and rarely "some slight range problems indoors"
Does anybody have anything good/ bad to say about Compustar in particular (except 'have the dealer install it').
Has anybody here had LoJack? Recommend or Not recommend?

The new lo-jack not the old one. make sure of this. I have the new lo-jack in my itr with gps tracking and with the dei gps tracking. It the car is moved they will car your phone to make sure you gave permission.
How much does LoJack approximately cost? I looked on their site and found an Alarm upgrade for $300 and Ealry Warning @400 but I can't seem to find the base price.
Is it a difficult install or a dealer only install?
