what the hell is this noise?

my car sounds like a drag car. stock jdm d15b...i swear i'm hearing backfiring noise for some reason. sounds like it's poping. i only hear the noise when i revv high and release the gas. is this normal?

Check your timing or its time for a tune up.

could be running lean . . . i definately suggest a tune up. Is it like a "POP" or like "pop,pop,pop" ???

Do you have a catalytic converter, or exhaust? It could just be back pressure.. just little crackling and popping or BACKfiring badly?

Try adjusting your timing, run some higher octane gas,etc.

i'm bone stock. it's not bad... when i revv up, i hear nothing. when i let go and the rpms drop, that's when i hear pop pop pop pop pop...it's fast.
