Default Question about exhaust pitch/note?

With all the exhaust systems out on the market is it possible to achieve different sounds via resonators and bends? The reason I ask is our cars rev to close to 9k rpms which naturally will create a very high pitch noise. Is it possible to create a ferrari like noise using different resonators and cats to achieve a similar sound? This isn't a "ricer" question but rather a serious question regarding how the exhaust note can be changed. Anyone that knows something on this topic that can offer some sort of knowledge to this thread would be greatly appreciated. Just starting a discussion.

Piping size, bottle necks, resonator size on the b-pipe, size of the rear muffler/can, amount/type/texture of the material in the muffler all have a bearing on the type of noise the exhaust will produce...but somehow i doubt you will ever be able to get the exhaust note produced by a V10/V12 ferrari exhaust from a 4banger motor no matter what type of exhaust you get for it.

very simple, it won't happen..
- round motorcycle type mufflers will lead to raspy sound, oval mufflers will lead to more deeper sound,
- resonators in between will quiet it down and/or make the sound less raspy overall
- cat will also quiet everything down a bit
- larger piping will of course sound louder
- turbo will quiet everything down by a lot until you go wot + high rpms and with external wastegate
- high hp all motor will also make a unique sound

but you won't even match a v6 sound.. wrx on other hand with large n1 muffler will resemble a v8... oh.. a ferrary sound? you gotta have a ferrary for that one..
