Default Low oil = high rev.....

Hmmm, why when my car is low on oil does my idle sit up at around 1,000 rpms...??? i put a quart in an idle dropped to around 750... i had no idea that oil controlled the idle of my car ::sarcasm appreciated::.. but naa for real, does low oil level really set idle at higher rpm...?? or is my car just one of a kind

im sure oil pressure plays a roll in idle speed, less oil presure easier idle???
