3 in a row! It MUST be true!

ive heard nothing but good things about the obx lsd and its cheaper than the oem one. this is a daily driver and not a track car.. so the lsd is a waste for the most part BUT i have the tranny apart.. so im just going to do it now for fun.
search HT youll see that what im saying about the obx lsd is true.. its not a POS like youd think.. its a quaife immiatation for about 350-500 bucks.
i found out its not available till january anyhow-

you are asking for trouble if you are seriously thinking about that...
get a freaking JDM LSD at least....i would never put something like that inside my tranny

everyone says get the jdm lsd but it all depends on how much your putting down. the jdm lsd is only good for about 230 whp
i'd save my money and get the quiafe

i think i said this already- but this is a street car.. not a track car. and once again, ive heard nothing but good things about the obx lsd. i think people are quick to call it a piece of **** because its obx.. but to be honest with you.. i think that obx does makes some decent products, for example- underdrive pulleys, cam gears, exhausts, etc.
i mean, im sure ill take some **** for this.. and thats fine- whatever, but
i wouldnt have an issue with putting an obx exhaust or some of the other aforementioned items on my car .. in fact i have a miata that i also drive in summer and ive considered putting an obx exhaust on it because its full stainless and about 200 dollars less than any 'name brand'.
in my opinion, a 2.25" stainless steel exhaust is the same if you buy a greddy, apexi, or obx. they all serve the same in terms of functionality. The obx copied its design off the quaife, it also has a warranty. i think its a decent product. and i think that the people who are calling it a piece of **** and telling me im crazy shold research it themselves before making judgement. there are a lot of posts on here in fact praising it.
not trying to stir an argument, just putting in my 2 cents.

ok.. once again, im not interested in peoples opinions. its a good product. search this site and you will find that it is actually well received by the drag racing community. People who are making these judgements have not done their research. thats fine. all i wanted to know was if it was out yet. i found out its coming out in january.

ebay....that seems to be the OBX marketplace....lol
i would never purchase anything OBX made ...bottomline...call me whatever you want to...hell call me uneducated.....i dont really care what you call me....lol....good luck with that purchase...lol
oh yeah...if its a street car only...then you dont need a LSD...
even if this thing is good and its warrantied...if it breaks you are gonna have to pay serious cash for another install...
drag racers use it?? What about Auto-xers....where the LSD REALLY gets use

nobody called anyone anything- its just frustrating when you ask a question like - is it out yet and etc and every response you get is an opinion of the product either good or bad. lots of people like it- if you look around on HT it has mixed reviews- but mostly good.
as for my reasoning behind doing it, im doing a k20 swap into a civic coupe and the swap came from a wrecked rsx and the tranny case had a hole in it. consequently, i have taken the tranny apart. My tranny shop told me that if i had the lsd hed put it in for free now that everything is apart. i figured it would be a nice thing to have to stop the embarassing one wheel burn outs or in case i ever decided to take it to the track one weekend.

this topic recently came up on several 240sx forums. Since LSD is the best thing you can get for a drift car, it is most saught after for 240 owners. Many have done research and made quite a few phone calls asking about this.
It turns out OBX does not acutally make this, they just sell it, there is a lifetime warrenty on it, and it is a helical LSD. I believe ITR LSDs are VLSDs? I could be mistaking. For $450 shipped that dosnt sound too bad opposed to aftermarket ones ranging from $900-1200. But thing is... who out there has acutally tried it?

OBX lsd are very good, I know a couple of 10sec turbo hondas are running it with no problems, I don't care what anyone says its a good product.
I am also for one for my SC K24/K20 EG Civic, let me know where to get it from and I will buy for sure and he said where can he get it from not itr or obx for anyones info...

Nice to hear from people who actually have experience with the product talking about it rather than just saying 'it sucks' just 'because its obx'
OBX has a lifetime warranty, it costs half of what a quaife does. Lots of people are using them, im sold- but i need to wait a month for it to come out...

well in my opinion the obx lsd is the ****...it is similar to their cams. they are an exact copy of a GRADE A product. they are made with the same materials, and from the research that i have done, they are even made in the exact manor as the quafe. everyone needs to stop nockin one **** they dont have...i ran an obx lsd in my track car just to see how it would hold up. it did great.
there was a guy on CRSX that posted pics of the inside of the OBX....
exact same design...But the materials were of a lesser grade than the Quaife...
if i can find the thread ill link it

bought an oem Itr dc5 lsd...
not because i think its that much better of a deal.. but only because the obx k20 lsd isnt out and 'sometime this month or next' (what obx told me) was not satisfactory.. my tranny is apart now.. and i want to do this swap starting in march.. i still think the obx is a good product.. and as i mentioned earlier.. i would have no prob getting obx cam gears, exhaust, etc. I think people are too hard on obx becuase they consider it 'cheap' or 'rice' or whatever- but the fact still remains- if it works and its cheap and reliable, its a deal in my opinion.

The Quaife, Honda OEM and OBX are all Torsen helical differentials.
There are certainly many road racers who use OBX differentials with no problems at all, but that one catastrophic failure is what everybody remembers. You'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth the savings.
