Default How do I read a cam?

Can anybody here expalin it too me?

I am thinking about getting either a zex cam or crower cam for my SOHC vtec? But I dont understand which one best suits my applictaion which is street/strip...What do I need to look at, when figuring out which is more aggressive? can anyone explain the terms and how each is important to choosing which one is best for a daily driver please?

This is the Zex street/strip cam:

260/268 220/ 216 .455/.430

and this the crower cam: (Advertised Duration Duration @ .050" Gross Lift w/ 1.6 int / 1.8 exh )

259 / 235 224 / 196 .405 / .383

so how do I read this and determine, which give me power and good for daily driving?

Thanks in advance

take a look at bullfrog. what year is your car? he claims 23 hp at the wheels. i think it is about $500.
intake- lift-.397 duration-261
exhaust-lift-.375 duration-228 for a 96-00 d16
does anyone have any experience with gude?
i heard about him from a friend.

go with the zex it seems alot of people have had good results with that cam. gude is ok but from what i have heard their customer service is lacking. don't know anyone running the crower sohc stuff. the crower and zex are new billet cams and the gude is a re-grind so it will eventually wear and have to be replaced.

This is the Zex street/strip cam:

260/268 220/ 216 .455/.430

and this the crower cam: (Advertised Duration Duration @ .050" Gross Lift w/ 1.6 int / 1.8 exh )

259 / 235 224 / 196 .405 / .383

That both was street profile. For street use i'd like to go with the crower. The lift wasn't to big (not make lot stress on valve train) and the crower has a "fatter" profile. we'd love the cams that had a big @ .050 duration with small adv. duration (more aggresive valve train motion) . So it will sucked more lot of air (with the big @ 0.050 dur) but no merely adv.duration for the advantage compression step.

and for the standart FI will love the "not to big" ex. dur (if you go with crower)

*Try GUDE (bullfrog) for another alternative (they allways produce FAT cams, with adequate lift)

Thats all only my oppinion

r.i.p. greddy turbo kit (missed greatly now)

a-e-m cold air intake for a gsr modded to fit my d16y7

Intake manifold from a 94 ex
ex tranny swap
msd blaster ignition box

I saw an install and dyno of the zex cam in a magazine. WITH a cam gear it made something like 7hp. Not bad. You would notice that. I have heard people say the bullfrogs are ok, but they are regrinds.
