Default best place to mount a sub amp in RSX

so im puttin in an aftermaket s/w to replace the weak pos bose one.
got myself a single 12" and amp to match it and plan on mountin the sub in a premade box.

prollem is that i dont want the install to be too permanent, id like to at least be able to pop out the sub and box when i need the room.

the amps around 11"x12"x1" and fan cooled

i was thinkin about just mounting it to the bak of the rear seats, is this a good idea? and what other places might be good for this install?

im not really lookin into spendin too much $$ on this so somethin simple would be best

any suggestions?

Good luck with that. Bose systems are a bitch to add to. I heard it's because they run at like 1/2 ohm or something like that. I put a system in a Camero with a Bose system and we ended up ripping out the Bose and rewiring everything. You could always use that thing from JL Audio.http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...id=79I was looking at this for my girls car.$300 ruffley. Nice piece of equipment though.

How about under the pass. front seat, and although adding to a Bose system used to be a problem, it no longer is as big a deal, in fact the adpt. used to install an aftermarket HU into the Bose system is nothing more then RCAs to the oem radio harness in the RSX, so I bet you could just cut the ends off a set of RCAs connect them to front or rear outputs from the stock HU plug the other end into the sub amp, done deal. 94

Yours best bet is on the rear seats. If its small enough, place it on one of the rear seats so you still have the functionay of the 50/50 split

If not, I've mounted it to both seats together and just noted that both seats need to come down at teh same time.

There would not be enough clearance under the front pass seat as the Bose amp is located under there.

If you're also looking at where to tap you wires, You could always tap them at the BOSE amp under the seat, held on by two 10mm screws. Here you can grab your speaker signals before the amplication, and the remote turn on all in one spot

GL!
