im trying to remove the stock knock sensor and replace it with a good workging one out of a 2000 si but dont know what size socket i need i know the 2000 si one is a 27mm but the 1st gen is def smaller any help would b great

are you sure cuz it seems not to fit when i put the ratchet on it.. the 1st gen sensor seems to be smaller

 

Looking at an engine I have in my shop,
The knock sensor is so close to the intake manifold,
The socket I have won't go all the way on..

Need a really thin socket or maybe grind one down....

 

could be it???????????

 

use a combination wrench turn up ways, put a screwdriver thru the box side of the combo wrench, then turn it

i figured it out i was trying to use a impact socket but was to thick so i bought a crapsman and it fit mint all set thanks for the help
