fuel filter 1989 - how to remove?
I have an 89 integra LS. I am trying to replace the fuel filter. The only problem that I have is getting the top bolt untightened. I remove the top service bolt, thus relieving the pressure. Then I try to turn the top nut (flat on two sides and rounded at the other two) with a wrench, but it simply does not want to budge. Does any one have any hints at getting that nut off? What can't it be a hex nut like the one below the filter? Do I need a special tool? It seems that I have to remove the fusebox in order to get my wrench in there to get some torque - however, it still doesn't help. I feel like I am doing something very wrong. Help!! Is the service bolt the banjo bolt?
On my CRX I only used a wrench, it was pretty tight so you might want to soak it. Be careful and don't break off that piece that holds it in place.

G2, there are 2 bolts located side by side.
G3, the top is the bolt and the bottom of the filter is the compression nut.
G1, don't know.
But yeah, those bolts are generally on pretty tight.
I skinned my knuckles everytime I replaced my fuel filter.
Does the top end of the so-called banjo bolt (flat on two sides and rounded on the other two) extend through the fuel filter to the nut on the bottom? Thus, holding both the input and output lines firm against the filter.
If this is the case perhaps I should work the bottom nut while only holding the banjo top (flat on two sides and rounded on the other two) with a wrench.
Comments?
