Default AEM Big Brake Fitment (Si/VTEC)

I just picked up a set of AEM big rotors on ebay today because I got a deal I couldn't pass up and the part number shows they're for a vtec Prelude. I know the vtec Preludes came with bigger brakes from the factory, how is this gonna affect the big rotors? are the brackets still gonna work right? are the calipers gonna work right? basically what I'm asking is....

(cliff notes).....can I use a vtec big rotor kit on my si? and if not, what do i need to modify?

won't work.......you will need the vtec braking system

was it such a good deal to where you have to spend more money in order for it to work? i mean its good to get the bigger calipers if you were planning on upgrading to the vtec brakes but why not just buy the brembo blanks for 62 bux shipped???

I got the big rotor kit for $75 brand new, I couldnt pass that up, and my little brother has a vtec Prelude so we can always use it on his car but I'd like it on mine. I have Brembo blanks right now and they're fine but $75 for the big rotors!?! how could I have passed that up!?! exactly what parts of the vtec brake system do I need?

You will need either

Prelude VTec Calipers
Legend (?GS or not, I'm unsure?) Calipers
NSX Calipers
Accord V6? or Wagon Calipers
Any others...?

With the Brackets for each caliper set also..

I think that is all you have to change... could be wrong though..
Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong..

what if I just got the vtec caliper brackets? would that work with the brackets that come with the AEM kit? I think the Prelude calipers are all the same, the rotors are just bigger on the vtec model.

i'm pretty sure its the bracket/calipers

because SI's have different brake pad #'s and the vtec's have different #'s

it is the 4 lug right?

if you need to get new calipers you might as well pick up some legend ones. I got the calipers and brackets for $70 bucks from a junk yard. You need them from either the 93-95 Legend LS Coupe or 94-95 Legend GS Sedan.

From what I've heard, all you would need is the caliper mounts, not the calipers (the calipers are the same from Si to VTEC).

More than likely, you'll still need the mounts to mount them to the vtec lude too. You'll have to find a way to put the calipers further out away from the center since the rotors are bigger...
