To those who have installed or participated in an install on a 92-95 Civic w/H&R Coilovers, must the spring be compressed in order to secure the top hat onto the strut, or can you assemble the whole strut assembly without it being compressed? Just need to know if I need to get my hands on a compressor or not before my coils come in. Any help is appreciated.
are they lowered springss or factory settings if they are lowerd then you shouldnt need to compress because they are shorter

They're full on coilovers, so whatever spec spring and shock they use with their setup. The only reason why I'm specifc about these coilovers is because i've been told there is a preload once the coil has been put together. I dont know if that alters anything or what.

In case anyone ever wonders about the question I initially asked in this thread, the answer is : YES YOU DO NEED A SPRING COMPRESSOR.
