I have a realy bad noise coming from either the trans for what I thought at first to be the passenger axle. It sounds like something is skipping in the trans when I load the diff. Does this mean the diff is toast????? I replaced the axle with another unit and it has the same problem as before. I need some way to check if that is the definite problem before I go and buy an expensive differential. I have a Y1 trans with a quaiffe. Any help is appreciated.

 

well, quaife diffs have lifetime waranty. so if it is, send it back and get a fresh unit. but it sounds like it may be sonething else.
