Need some Help!...Car wont start!!!
Haha this sucks.I just bought this car.
Its a 95' GSR.Car started fine everytime with no hesiataion for the first 2 days.I drive to work and go into VTEC once for a split second for maybe 2 seconds.Nothing sounded funny after driving to work.I park the car........Work.........Get in the car to go home and the car wont start.
Battery is brand spakin new so its not that.
Try to turn it over its not clicking so that would mean the starter is good, right?
I have a couple buddies push the car and try to roll start it in gear.Nothing
I pull the spark plug wires and theres white chalkey stuff on the spark plugs wires inside. Not totaly covered but enough I guess to make me think there old.Does it sound like the cyclinders just arent getting spark or what?
Thanks

Is it low on gas?? Sounds like could be a fuel pump to me, and if its low on gas you could have blown your fuel pump.
its not clicking when you turn it over, you mean nothing happens at all?? cause if its not starting at all (not even turning over) then maybe you left your headlights on

Its is a little low on gas.But not below Empty or anything.
Even it was low on gas I would felt it it the last few seconds of driving this morning wouldnt I?
That and it would try to start if it had gas wouldnt it?
And no I didnt leave my headlights on.The radio and everything comes on.Should it be clicking?
Also I see the motor shaking when trying to start it.

not if you blew your fuel pump. it will try and start and try and try and try, but won't get any fuel....but if its not even turning over at all then its either a dead battery or dead starter...and no you wouldn't have any prior warning if you blew the fuel pump, driving a car hard with less than 1/4 tank is bad news...i know from experience
How hard are fuel pumps to replace?
Is there a way to tell if a fuel pump is blown?
So to you it doesnt sound like spark plugs and wires?

you have to remove the fuel tank, fuel pump job around here costs $500-$600canadian, i dunno what that is in USD, i assume $375-$450ish....
when you have the plug pulled but still connected to plug wire is it sparking?? that will tell you if its plugs or wires, and either way, the car would start without one plug, and all 4 plugs failing at once would not happen.

My bad, I just got my integra today, so I wasn't 100% sure if you could get through it from the backseat....some cars you can, some you can't. If you can get at it from removing the back seat it should be an easy job really...

Oh ok.
I get what your saying on the spark plugs. But could it be the something ignition?Coil, igniter etc...Im just tring to pinpoint all what it could be.
Would the low gas light come on if it was low when I drove it hard?Or even with the off but key in on posisytion?

No the low gas light wouldn't nessessarly come on...as for ignition, well is it turning over?? IE trying to start like normal?? or is there nothing at all when you turn the key?

Yeah it sounds like its starts like normal, and I can see the engine jumpin but theres no exhaust sound.
If I take ou the back seat I should be able to hear the fuel pump turning on right?Or would it make noise if it was bad anyways?

Yeh that to me sounds like a fuel pump, if its turning over, and the car is getting spark, then its missing fuel/air and thats the exact same thing that happened on my car when i blew the fuel pump...i gotta run though , good luck....
oh, as for noise, yes the fuel pump will have a slight hum to it....you should just be able to turn the key to on, and listen to fuel pump and be able to hear it with the seat removed..

Pull one of the spark plugs out and see if it smells like you are getting gas. Pull off the distributer cap and look inside. It should be dry and no cracks. Make sure the rotor tip is not all burnt and stuff.
Did you listen to hear if your fuel pump was working......?? You might try getting a fuel filter also. About 20 or 25 at the Zone. Couldn't hurt....
Yeah Im pretty sure it came on.I used to have a civic and it was louder but I guess the tegs cover is thicker or something.
But just because it comes on doesnt mean its in working cond. right? Its could still be messed up to where it wont pump.
Im going to tow the car tonight to my house and look into it more.
Thanks
Oh and the fuel filter was just replaced.
By taking the valve cover off I can see all the valves correct.

Why the hell would you take the valve cover off??
Don't start pulling your engine apart man...Maybe you should get it towed to a shop because by the sounds of it your gonna get yourself in some trouble.

Yeh man, curiosity killed the cat. If you don't know what your doing your going to end up taking stuff apart and not knowing how to get it back together, be careful

I personally wouldn't use a used fuel pump. Some things are okay used but there are other things that you just want brand new. But hey it's your car do what you want. And when you turn the car on you should be able to hear the pump prime (slight hum). I can hear mine prime with the seat on and the radio on. good luck

Hell, thats how I figure most things out is by taking them apart and figuring out how to put them back.
But I understand what your saying.

I was thinking about the Walbro 190 seeing as its cheaper than the autozone one.Ive heard from a couple people that they dont last very long though.
