think I blew a front strut
I hit a man hole that was raised about 2 inches at about 15 mph and now all I get out of the right front shock is creaks, and squeaks. it sounds as if the strut is still somewhat holding it but the springs are taking a majority of the load. I pushed down on the fender and didn't get much feed back, didn't go down much and didn't come up much.
I think these were the original shocks, so time to replace with some koni's or something.
I really don't have the funds to replace them right now, is it ok to ride around on a blown strut, will the springs get messed up? I have some Sprint lowering springs on there .

Who cares if the springs get jacked... You will want to replace them when you get new dampers anyway... And I don't think they would suffer too much damage anyway... Your just going to have a bouncy ride.
And I'm about to get flamed for this I'm sure... But the perch support clip on koni's sucks. I sheered one off running through a pothole after about 1 month of driving Oakland's ghetto *** roads. I don't know who decided to support the full load of the perch on 1/8th of an inch of metal... But they should have their pocket protector taken away and get beat severely with an HP 48GX-graphing calculator. And yes I'm aware that the perch is supposed to hold that circlip thing in place, well guess what? It didn't. Boo.

No worries... I’d even go as far as to say that my set might have been defective since I've never seen another post about this... But it still does not seem like good design to me.
