Default Radiator Upgrade?

Is it totally necessary to upgrade the stock '92-'95 radiator if you get a swap (B18C)? Yes, extra cooling would be nice, but is it totally necessary or is it one of those mods you do if you have money burning in your pocket?

It is not absolutely necessary. Like you said, if you have the extra cash, go for it.

Like you said it is one of those mods you do if you have some extra money. It is not necessary. Would look cool though.

It depends, if you are only going to drag race I dont think that you REALLY have to, but I would recommend it. If you do any form or road racing or track time, then I would say that you 100percent have to. Heck on my civic the stock radiator cant keep my stock motor cool for that long, it would never be enough cooling for after a swap. At the least go get a integra radiator out of a junk yard, or even better get a fluidyne.

If you don't upgrade the radiator, then don't beat on the car until you do. One thing to keep in mind is that Honda put a larger radiator on the B18 motors because they felt this was a necessity, otherwise, they would save themselves money and just keep using the smaller radiators found in the Civic. I don't have proof that the Civic radiator is insufficient, but don't chance it. Just my opinion though.

not totally needed, but if you do any trackschools where you are in vtec for 20 minutes at a time, 5-7 times that day, it would bne a great benefit to your beloved motor!

I bought a 1998 GSR radiator for my 92 hatch from larry jr at importautosalvage.com for about $80 shipped. NICE It went in great, but I really should have bought a fan from the GSR also. The CX fann screwed on but its rigged up okay, I think I will go GSR fan soon.
