1988 CRX SI Corner lights stay on
I am having an issue. The corner lights will not turn off. Any idea what this could be. It already killed one battery. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
Trace the wires find out where they're going? Did you buy the car like that, or did it just happen one day? Could be a bad switch somewhere. I would just make sure they're not hard wired in.
i had the same problemwhen i installed a stero in my bros car. it could be the back up fuse under the hood that was my problem

The back up fuse under the hood? What do you mean? Backup for what? Is it a 15 amp fuse? I am missing one of those. Are you saying if I replace that fuse the light will go off?

Well,
I have check all the appropriate ground wires and the lights are still on. I have noticed that it is only the front parking lights that will stay on. the rear oens turn on and off as they are supposed to. Any suggestions?

direct quote from manual:
Failure modes:
.One or both of the front side marker lights stay on all the time
(ignition and headlights off)
.One or both of the front side marker lights will not illuminate.
If either of these problems exist, replace the side marker relay
(integrated control unit)
Probably >the relay is stuck on...

yessir. i fried mine when i dropped a wrench and it spanned the two terminals on the battery (oops). i unplugged the bulb for a while before running over the solution on accident while thumbing pages.
replacing it solved the problem

Rsca_crx, when you replaced the relay, was it the black relay that is located in the upper lefthand corner of the fuse box? When I pulled it and swapped it, it was a 3 prong relay. Any help would be helpful.

unplug one of the lights plugs from the back of the housing. ONE at a time.
if you unplug one and it goes off but the other stays on then the other is the culprit (grounding out somewhere)

Are you talking about the back of th corner light housing? i do not think so as I am sure the light will go out as soon as I unplug the bulb. Help me out with that?

it would help determine if they are on a common circuit (the ground) and might help you track down which wire to look at for shorting to ground.
use a multimeter to check continuity between the ground pin and chassis as well, can tell u if the gnd has a short in it.

I finally got the lights to shut off. It was the intergrated control unit. I will let you know what happens when I out it in and if it is truly the fix.
