VIN question
Just wanted to know where i can get another duplicate VIN plate. I bought a car that was stripped and the whole interior was gone. So the last owner went to a junk yard and bought new dash board and the whole interior. So now the dash board is from another car. So where can i go to get it duplicated?

no where, even the dealership wont touch it. Your best bet is keeping a copy of the new dashboard receipt on you at all times incase you get pulled over.
Even that might not stop the cop from saying tough crap and impounding it.
If you do find a place, post it up. I have a friend in the same boat.

nope, cops dont check the frame or the door. You have lots of explaining to do if you get pulled over without it. Usually they impound first, ask questions later.

You would have to check the sate laws, maybe call them first. I would imagine they would want proof of sale, title, registration, insurance and then they would check frame and door. They may even want the receipt for the dash, I really dont know.
