Default Sound Damping For Audio

Has anyone used and B-Quiet or accumat sound damping for the crx's....I have extra road noise and want to know if this stuff is worth getting. I'm about to put some bazooka bass tubes in my hatch and the hatch could use some damping. Let me know what you guys have experienced. Thanks!

I dynamated my trunk and it helped a ton with the rattling. You could do the whole car but would be a lil overkill. You should be fine with just a trunk kit dynamat.I think there around 30-40bucks on ebay.

A foam pad stuffed behind panels works just as good to stop rattling

wellll i've got 108sq feet of dynamat and about to do a 200sqfeet more of SS Spectrum and sludge so i can vouch for how much it helps. personally if i were you i'd use rammat (sp?) its about as good and a whole lot cheaper

that should answer all of your questions

p.s. do NOT get bazooka tubes

Not always...the dynamat adds mass to the panel itself which reduces the resonance.

The metal to plactic contact is what makes the rattle, you place a barrier inbetween and all possibilities for rattling are gone, and they dont add the 100lbs to your cars weight, I did my entire rear of my crx for probably $8 (25foot X 18") of that bed matting and it took away pretty much all of the creeps and clanks

i did my whole integra after it was painted.. i havent had a chance to actaully see if it reduced noise in my car as i am still building it. however, my friend and i did his 02 wrx sedan and it sounded really good. heres what mine looks like before i put the interior in.

did the doorskins, complete floorboard, under rear seat, rear quarter panel, and rear wheel wheels.

agreed. raamat is great stuff. rick, the owner, is a super super nice guy. i have used 2 rolls of raamat to my ITR, the road noise has reduced significantly.

my system consists of...

alpine f#1 cda-7990
alpine f#1 pxa-h900
brax x2400.2
rf t5002
seas lotus protoype tweeters for new reference set (ran active)

2 seas lotus 12" sw300 subwoofers

wow... f1 status, brax.... wow. major props.

eclipse is coming out with a new processor so im thinking about that. not sure on the seas. and ology is a new audio company thats just getting started. but stay tuned there is lots to come. i can't really say much on it but its gonna be much different then what people are used to... in a good way. (lets hope anyway)

just curios, how much are you gonna be selling the amps for (not that i could ever affoard them) what are you replacing them with? where did you even get of them? i've only heard of one dealer and thats online and way overpriced

thanx, well, i never pay retail or anythign close to it for my stuff.

im not a big fan of eclipse. the only thing i like from eclipse is the AVN stuff. everything else is bleh. their top of the line radios usually have some slight hiss, which bugs the **** out of me.

well, who/what is ology? after some asking around. i am hearing it is dayton audio stuff with custom built passives. looks like crap and sounds like dayton. not sure if that is a good or bad thing. who knows. keep me updated on ology though. you make it seem worthwhile.

the brax i am going to sell for about $900. i cant tell you where i got it from. the only authorized internet dealer for brax products is http://www.mobilesq.com. which is my friends website and i also work for him .

not sure what i am going to replace my amps with. i was looking into some tru technology hybrid tubes, but i might get sponsored by arc audio. so i am thinking about running the new arc signature series stuff. hopefully they are as good as they make them out to be. i should know at CES when i have a meeting with some ARC guys.

so after some digging around some more, those crossovers look like crap. honestly, they look like they are the "william hung" of crossovers. i doubt ology audio with come up with something good unless they have a lot of money and some new engineers. dont waste your time on that crap. im sure buying the daytons yourself and running them active can give you wayyy better results.

that was the first stuff dylan (aka ology) ever built. the sq was actually very nice and the daytons are a good set of oem drivers (8ohm though). now that hes got some money and a business partner they're currently working on a buildhouse and should be coming out with their dvc 6.5's soon. but i will have to agree that the first run was nothing special at all heh.

i was actually looking at the avn line. im not a big fan of their headunits at all or the hype behind them. if i go with something else i'll probably get a 7998 with a h701 and a rux

yeah thats the website i was thinking of. i guess when you've got the market cornered you can sell for those prices and if you want brax quality the price is worth it. when are you selling that? for that price i might have to save up some money. not to mention they just look sexy

what is the f1 to run active with?

looks, they work great but even someone like me who whole heartedly supports dylan and his company can say they are ugly... functional but very very ugly.

They are usually stuffed down in the door of your car. What I care about is the drivers. Looks come last an ugly crossover work the same as a pretty crossover.

To a certain degree yes. You would be surprised how many pretty looking crossovers actually suck. I don't like passive crossovers anyway they add more distortion then active. I care more about what the design does. I want to know if they used mylar caps, have a zobel network, and the type of inductor used and blah blah blah .
