which eagle rods for a b17a?
Are all pistons the same, aside from the bore? I've got wiseco pistons from endyn and eagle rods from importparts. I'm putting the lower end together and the pistons protrude about .15" from the deck at TDC. It's a b17a resleeved to 84.5mm
all the B-series engines have the same cylinder bore. 81mm the only thing diffrent from the 1.6L to the 1.8L is the stroke
you better double check the part numbers on the rods you have and call up endyn to make sure they sent you the right pistons. it should not stick out the top of deck at all.......

Do you know who all makes rods for the b17a? Here is the listing at importparts:
Eagle ESP H-Beam Rods 1.8 Integra B18A/B18B/B17A1/B20 (Set of 4)
Can you confirm that this is wrong before I call Ben?

oops........sgt is right........the B17 has a diffent rod than the B16.
crower makes rods.........you might want to compare them to the eagles.
specs from crower website:
Acura Integra 1.7 VTEC DOHC (B17A 1992-93) 5.208" 1.890" 0.935" 0.826" (21mm) 0.900"
Integra 1.8 non VTEC DOHC (B18A/B18B 1990-up) 5.394" 1.890" 0.935" 0.826" (21mm) 0.900"
looks like you got the Integra LS rods which are slightly longer........return them and get the proper ones........

Unfortuantely I'm not getting any help from importparts, just the number to someone at Eagle.
I've already got all of the pistons connected to the rods. They are free floating and have little rings that snap into a groove to hold the piston pin in place. I can't imagine it being very easy to get that ring back out, and advice before I try?

it shouldent be that difficult to remove the snap rings.........you cant remove them with a needle nose plyers and a small screw driver?
that's probably what i would use even though it's probably not the right tool........
