What do you think of the Phantom Grip LSD and why? Did it inflict any damage of any sort?

what makes you say the obx is garbage? mine has seen 2 years of abuse..1 year at 550 whp and 1 year at 750+ whp..

I had a Phantom Grip in my Comp. 4 car...it blew on my first pass ever down the 1/4!!!

As for the OBX, I've seen problems trying to get the axles to come back out. They have to be beat out, and if your not careful you can damage your tranny. Maybe that was with an older style OBX though, Im not sure.

I used the Phanton Grip in a 2000 GSR transmission with no issues for a period of about 9-12 months while making multiple all motor passes and driving back and forth with the car. Then I changed to an ITR tranny so I would say that it worked fine for me while I had it installed.

I'm pretty sure the CFT Civic is running a phantom Grip. They make 750+hp.

qauife diff's feel like a spool on take off, and at the end of the track allow u to turn on tight tracks turn around with ease. i took 1 apart one time if you could ever break 1 i'd say you r the man

phantom grip Look at its design...can you say metal shavings?? We have fixed far too many transmissions with this part in them. I would always recommend a Quaife unit over a Phantom grip. If its too much $$...maybe you should look into R/C car racing It costs money to go fast and more to go faster!
Do it right the first time and you won't regret it! Just my two pennies

cft runs a quaife with a tilton clutch... they had the integra running a phantom grip for like 2 years with 500+whp.. but they also switched to quaife... i blew up 3 phantom grips @ 550whp... after i blew up the third phantom grip i used a freinds tranny with the obx diff... the obx held up for about 2 weeks @ 550whp (couldve blew due to improper installment).... now i make 606whp on boost alone... my oem diff has worked great since april... if i had the $$$ id go with a quaife though... but evry1 has an opinion on this.... personally i like oem or quaife for a street/track car... i had bad expierces with the obx but no doubt that the obx work... i made my 10 sec pump gas pass using it...

the PG didn'y cause your pin to let loose. that happens on all open diffs. not saying they are good but they didn't cause the pin to come out
