Default Going to replace shocks soon. Need some advice!

Hi everyone! my 99 integra now have 135XXX miles on it and I think the shocks are going to die out soon. Even if it is not, I still want to replace it because it is very old. Anyways, my car height and everything on the car is all stock and I'm not planning on lowering it either. So what should I do to get better performance or at least the same comfort ride as oem shocks. Should I get OEM shocks from Acura which going to cost me alot or should I just get Tokico shocks? Also, is there any difference between the adjustable and non adjustable shocks from Tokico?
thanks for any help.

Consider OEM TypeR struts and springs (plus the required rear LCA's).
Firmer and tighter than stock RS or GSR - reducted body roll, more neutral steering (less understeer) and lowers the car just a bit (1/2" or so)....but still very civilized ride characteristics.

KYB AGX imho is the best aftermarket shock. Cheaper than OEM, 4 stage-adjustable. I use level 2 for daily/highway driving. Level 3&4 will handle stiff spring rates very well. Go ebay and they sell 4 shocks for around 350.

IMO koni yellow's do the job, if not i would just stick with the oem shocks or do the type-r setup that the other h-t member suggested, all in all aftermarket shocks arent really necessary for oem suspension.

Thanks for all the suggestion guys. I really like the height of the type R but it seems almost impossible to get those springs. I think I will get the KYB then!
thanks again

Anyone here tried Bilstein on theirs? They run a bit over $400 for all.

Gogo, why is the KYB AGX better in your opinion?

From what i head tokico whites are little too soft for straight rate springs like the one u find on GC sleeves and H&R reds. anything softer than that should be fine. Koni yellows are ridiculously expensive, and it doesnt come with the brake hose fitting. Adjusting is also not as easy as the KYB. I happen to like KYB cos even in level 2 damping, the car's motion is well controlled going over bumpy surface at 90mph. 3 & 4 are race settings. AGX also is the cheapest among others.

IMHO LCA's are nice to have items, but not required for daily drive, even auto-X and occasional track days.

Btw the height of ITRs can be acheived by using H&R OE springs.

go with koni regulars(reds) they are adjustable as well and cost about half of the yellows you can probably find a 4 pc set for about 300-350

I thought H&R springs are at least 1.5 dropped? Well, if that is the case, then I will consider that brand.

thanks

If you want to keep a pretty stock ride height and be able to stiffen up the suspension then get the ITR struts, springs and lca's. If you can't find them in the classified section, then try http://www.passwordjdm.com and http://www.icbmotorsport.com

I have Tokico Hp's rears only for your car...I tried to put them on my 91 and they are too short. I will sell them for 60 bucks..thats half of what they are new.

Tokico sells a spring for the blue shocks they sell and the drop is very small, probably similar to type r, not super stiff either.

if you are not going to lower your car there's no point in changing shocks, you wont feel any difference trust me

There are two kinds. OE springs drop the car to ITR stock height, which is about 0.75-1 inch. H&R sport drops 1.5 inch.

I've heard alot of good things about the tokico blue shocks w/oem springs, that would probably be a good option. If not that I'd just stick w/some kyb oem struts since they'll be the cheapest and I have heard they are slightly stiffer than stock.
