Track Day @ GingerMan Raceway
Hello everybody,
SpeedTrial USA has an instructional road racing day Saturday, April, 13 at GignerMan Raceway in South Haven, MI. Our events are aimed at all levels of drivers and cars, so there should be something for everybody.
This event is $130 for the day which includes any intstruction and also your tech inspection. We will be running four groups at 20 minute intervals, so you will have more track time than you will know what to do with! For those attending the Type R Expo, this would be a great practice day.
To register, or for more information, please check out our site; www.speedtrialusa.com or email me.
I hope to see some of you there.
Race-on,
Brian.

they usually don't time laps. Some events do though. Depends on who's running the event. I've found my Intercomp in-car lap timer to be a great investment. Real-time recording of laps. Much easier to see what techniques work(and what didn't) when you can see the results after that lap, instead of waiting to find out if someone actually got that particular lap recorded on a clumsy stopwatch.
Hey guys,
I'm glad to see that quite a few of you are thinking of going. Whether you can participate or observe, it is a great time. We are going to have some great instructors and some fairly crazy cars.
We (SpeedTrial USA) do not time laps. "Road Racing Events" designates that we give intruction for driving road courses as opposed to auto-x or drag racing. Lap timers are allowed of course and they really can help you learn what is faster and what is not.

GingerMan is a great track for learing. There is only one wall and plenty of run-off space if you get into trouble. There are many technicalities to the track that are not obvious at first, but will become more apparent as you frequent the track.
Observers are very welcome to come out and there is no admission fee. In addition, you are allowed to ride with other drivers (if you ask them nicely) so long as they are approved by an instructor to take passengers.
Thanks for the support and let me know if there is anymore information that I can provide for you.

Me and my Focus will be there again. Anyone else from VIR showing up? Maybe I will have a wing by then and I can see how much power it adds!!!
Would you ITR guys mind if a 95 Prelude showed? I'm trying to decide whether or not I'm going to go since it would be my first time.
95redLUDE, This is an event for all. I posted in the H-tech forums because I knew that a lot of people would be interested, especially in this forum. If it makes you feel better, Mugen96 will be there with his 96 VTEC, I have a Prelude, and so far it sounds like at least one more Prelude is coming.
Tell anyone and everyone. Our last event had a couple of Panoz GTS' Mustangs, Porsche's, M3's, Vipers, WRX's and so-on. Come out, drive fast and have fun.
Brian.
P.S. Andie, I haven't gotten to my email yet, but I will!

I may try to get out there, but have to save up for the expo, which seems to be coming right up as well.
I may join as a spectator too if anyone from Chicago wants to caravan

How come the Speedtrial website doesn't work very well. A lot of links are broken. I want to see how past events went. Photos would be nice too.
Thanks to those of you that have signed up already. We will be providing tech inspection at the track at no extra charge. Plan on being at the track between 7:30-8am so you have time to empty your car out before the drivers meeting at 8:30. Sesions start at 9.

I have a question about this event. Can anybody run their cars or do you have to have an SCCA license to run? Also, do you need to have a driver suit and helmet? I really want to go, but I don't have anything special just me and the car. Please respond or email me at: RYANdesign817@aol.com
No, you do not need an SCCA license to run. Our events are aimed toward all levels of drivers. It is a great opportunity for first timers to see if they like this type of thing or not.
No, you do not need a driving suit, but it is recommended.
Yes, you need a helmet. It has to be SA 95 approved or better. Check out our sponsor http://www.northstarmotorsports.com for some helmets.
All you need to have a good time is you, your car and a helmet. Also, being able to drive home in the car you drove up with is a great thing. Be careful.

From what mugen22 said, I am going to need a helmet and nothing else. The only problem is... this is my first time ever on a track, so I don't have a helmet. I don't know if I'll want to or will be able to do this much more than this one time seeing as I'm a student and can't afford s#!t. So my question is for anybody who is going to this event, would I be able to borrow an extra helmet once we are at the track? I really want to do this, but helmets are a little expensive for a possibly one-time thing. Thanks a lot H-Ters.

Oh yeah, 95redLude, you've got a PM.
Talk to you all soon,
Brian.
