Alright i was wondering if there is a big differnce in using adjustable coilover sleeves on sport struts or just a full coilover setup. i realize the full system is pretty much always more expensive. is it worth the extera money?
i would have to say the full system coil overs would be a better choice. I went the cheap way and now i'm wishing i spent the extra 300-400 hundred more. heh
Getting good struts and coilover sleeves with the right spring rates will be just as good as most fullcoilover setups. Look into the koni yellows and ground control coilovers.

alright for a DA at tirerack the koni struts run at 129 a piece plus 300 for the ground control goods. this is about 820 bucks. the skunk2 full coilovers run 750. any opinions?
thanks
thanks
Personally, I found the Skunk2's to be unbearable when driving on the street, especially with my 120mi/day commute. GC and Koni's are a great street combo, and the KONI's stiffness can be adjusted if you are going to the track, so unless you're a full-time racer that should do fine.
Just my $0.02

I have the Skunk2 sleeves with Koni reds and I have it on my a daily driver all year and I don't see anything wrong with it. I love the way they ride and handle.
It's kind of bouncy, but that should be somewhat expected.

True statement. Listen to this guy. Koni yellows (GC specific) and GC custom rated sleeves is a race tested setup. Some of these new coilovers coming out are stuff made to sell to naive people who think they are getting a better suspension setup than shocks/springs for a couple hundred dollars more.
For example: Omni power and D2 coilovers. IMO the cheapest coilovers that you can get that are better than a goos spring/ adjustable shock setup are TEIN Super Streets.

No, a crappy spring will yield a more bouncy ride. Having stiff struts (koni yellows) and a mildly stiff spring will ride harsh and will not be bouncy.

KONI's are adjustible - I have mine set at 1/2 of a turn (out of 2 full turns). You don't have to have them turned up all the way on your daily driver unless you enjoy the harsh ride. Mine are paired with GC coilovers, and my ride is perfect for the street - stiff enough in the corners, but not too bouncy on open road.
I was wondering the same thing I just bought the omni- coilover sleeves........... I got ebay's world classs springs on there now.... havent drivin it yet but got a goo deal on the omni's with 448lbs in da front and 336 in the rear... all I need is a good set of shocks..

Don't put that crap on your car. If your going to spend money on your car, spend it wisely. Yes you might pay more, but its better to pay more now, then have to buy the same part twice and have to go through the aggrivation of installing and doing other ****, which will probably cost you more in the long run.

Agreed. Took me 5 suspension setups to figure out what I want and what works.
