Cable Tranny Swap/conversion
Well it finally happened. The curse of the SS auto tranny...its dead, or on the verge atleast since only first gear works. My plan was to finish paying the car and then selling it in exchange for a 5spd. But since I still owe on it, I figure I might aswell do the swap and start putting some money into it. Problem is I have no money, but thats beside the point.
Now. A person in my city is selling a H/F series cable tranny for $200. He says hes not sure what year and what it came off of but it came off a h23/h22 (early 90's prelude?). I told him what I wanted to do and he said it should bolt right on but that I might have some OBD issues because its a cable not a hydro tranny.
Anybody know about this, maybe an alternate solution for me. I thought all H/F used cable. It a good price? Ideas on how to get money lol.

do you know what tranny it came off of? I don't see why there would be an OBD issue if it's a cable. Preludes use cables for their shifters.
all preludes as far as i know 4th gen and up use hydraulic transmissions...you're mistaking the cable/linkage shifter for cable/hydro tranny

like soundbomber said....hydraulic or cable transmission refers to the clutch, not the shifer....
if its a cable clutch, it did not come off an h series, i would stick to h22/h23 transmissions due to differences in the mounting....
if you need help in doing the swap.....i just made a thread on it....in addition to the countless other ones....
and as long as all the syncros and bearings are ok, then $200 is a very good deal....
