That was him. And the "possibly stolen" motor.

Actually I think most everyone warned him not too buy it.

I Dont feel bad for him, Not one bit.

Think of it this way, It cost him $2000 to learn a lesson. One that we tried teaching him for free.

Yea, what the hell is it with people, they ask your opinion on the subject, and then once they get an overwhelming response, they go against the grain. Why the hell did they even ask in the first place...

Idiots

In his defense, he was warned to not buy stolen goods, but he never got anything.

If the auction had ended at 5k+ everybody would have just thought it was a legit sale and said nothing. And he still would have gotten burned, probably for more money.

Yeah, that post was huge! 9 pages if I remember. Anyone want to resurrect it with the link to his post in classifieds?

LOL. Was the 9 page thread locked or something? You could bring that back to warn people about cheap motors.

ROTFLMAO!!

I don't feel a bit of sorrow for him. He was completely warned and refused to even question the buyer.

The temptation to buy a stolen (=cheap) engine was too much for him.
There are a LOT of people that can't resist buying stolen stuff because of the price.

You, along with Raz1983, helped putting him thru that whole deal. Now he got burned and you Mr. Nice Guy spoke up in his defense?

Even if the auction ended at $5K+ it still wouldn't make it less suspicious because of all the bullshit "evidence" that the seller provided to claim that he's legit.

EKb18b, all I can say is CONGRATULATIONS!!! You got exactly what you asked for --- a rip off.

Trust me I do feel bad for not warning him it was a scam. But if you've read the posts on that thread, most of the reasoning was pretty illogical and he would have gone through with the buy regardless of what I said.

Most people were warning him that it was a stolen engine, not that the guy was a scammer. Regardless of price, you should always make sure the seller is not going to rip you off.

Speaking of those who support them, where is that RAZ guy? He was defending the seller like they were best friends!

That should be enough reason not to buy it. The fact that he tried to buy a stolen motor makes most of us don't feel sorry for him. It's a good lesson for him.......

At this point I don't really care what happens to the buyer, I just want to know what can be done to catch the seller.

Most likely the address isn't the sellers house, or even anyone he knows. So pretty much nothing can be done. The phone service was probably setup using someone elses identity as well. None of this is hard to do (and has happened to me before) and any half intelligent scammer would do that.
