That was him. And the "possibly stolen" motor.
Actually I think most everyone warned him not too buy it.

I Dont feel bad for him, Not one bit.
For one he didnt listen to us, for two he didnt mind the fact that most likely the engine was stolen

Yea, what the hell is it with people, they ask your opinion on the subject, and then once they get an overwhelming response, they go against the grain. Why the hell did they even ask in the first place...

In his defense, he was warned to not buy stolen goods, but he never got anything.
If the auction had ended at 5k+ everybody would have just thought it was a legit sale and said nothing. And he still would have gotten burned, probably for more money.

Wasn't he warned in a thread that is now around 6 pages long?
Jason-
Anyone want to resurrect it with the link to his post in classifieds?
Because I'm Evil
The temptation to buy a stolen (=cheap) engine was too much for him.
There are a LOT of people that can't resist buying stolen stuff because of the price.

Even if the auction ended at $5K+ it still wouldn't make it less suspicious because of all the bullshit "evidence" that the seller provided to claim that he's legit.
EKb18b, all I can say is CONGRATULATIONS!!! You got exactly what you asked for --- a rip off.

Trust me I do feel bad for not warning him it was a scam. But if you've read the posts on that thread, most of the reasoning was pretty illogical and he would have gone through with the buy regardless of what I said.
Most people were warning him that it was a stolen engine, not that the guy was a scammer. Regardless of price, you should always make sure the seller is not going to rip you off.

to thieves,
to those that support them,
to those that don't listen

At this point I don't really care what happens to the buyer, I just want to know what can be done to catch the seller.
